Today, we went to go and film in our friends garage, for the opening parts of our video and for the chorus. We thought the chorus should show the group playing together in unison, we decided that this aspect would work well for our music video, as it is commonly seen in many music videos of the ska genre. We thought it would be a good idea for us to dress up in clothing of the time, such as dr martin boots, checkered shirts and with the guitarist wearing braces. With georgia, the singer for our music video, we managed to get her to wear her mums dress from the 80's which helped us with the image of our band.

We decided to film the chorus in a garage as we wanted parts of our music video to look realisic and slightly working class. This aspect would appeal to viewers that like attending gigs of artists in the ska genre. As the Ska genre is quite easy going, the garage felt like an appropriate place to film as the atmosphere was calm and relaxed. It enforces the conventions of ska music videos because of most of the ska music videos we've watched, use the idea of a performance, such as in the video "my girl" by "madness".

After this day of filming we ventured back to school to edit what we had to film. We as a group where proud of what we had done and had managed to film the chorus to our music video. After we had uploaded what we had filmed, we started to see if we could master the new version of I-movie. We started to get to grips with the new version and so started to edit what we had of our music video. this went well, we had managed to get the timings almost perfect.

After this we went back to the drawing boards, to sketch out further plans for the rest of our music video. Although it took us a couple of weeks we managed to finish all of our story boards successfully ready to start filming again.

We then set out to film the first verse, we met by the triangle in new malden to start our filming. We chose to do it after college times so that we could get it in dark moments, so that we could then make the protagonist in the video look more mysterious and so more believable in her role. We think this went successfully and we hope you agree too.

we then went back to college to edit this part of film, which meant that we had from the introduction to the first verse all filmed and now edited. Our music video was finally fitting into place!!

We then realised we had to film the solo part of the song. So we decided to go out during our double media lessons to film it. We set up our camera in kingston by the iconic red phone boxes with James the guitarist sitting on them playing the solo! It was quite tricky to get this filmed well as many of the passers by thought it a good idea to walk in front of the camera while we're filming, to our annoyance.

After editing this we realised that there wasn't a lot left for us to do, just to finish the next chorus and the small ending!

we finished both the second chorus and the ending in the same day. which left us with a lot of time to edit our video. So that we could go over certain bits and thus help to touch it all up and make it as good as we possibly could!

Overall we believe that the project went well and we fulfilled it to the best of our ability. We hope that you feel the same way :)
